The sweet sound of teamwork

Welcome to the second edition of Kepler at Home. While we’re all adjusting to new schedules and ways of working, Kepler leaders share their thoughts, personally and professionally — how they stay motivated, moving, and the new traditions they are starting.

Those who know me well know I live my life to a soundtrack. I’m a music omnivore (everything from gospel and bluegrass to 90s hip hop and danzón Cubano) and almost always have something playing to give me whatever type of energy I’m looking to channel.

Curtis Mayfield is one of my all time favorites — both his work with The Impressions and his solo material. If his first three solo albums aren’t in your regular rotation, stop reading right now and start streaming!

But these days I find myself repetitively listening to a few select tracks on his final LP New World Order. The record is hit and miss. Pretty cheesy by today’s standards. But Mayfield wrote, executive produced, and sang the album one line at a time while laying on his back on the floor paralyzed from the neck down. And he was able to do it because he was surrounded by people who cared about him and rallied to his side. If that doesn’t prove we can work together to overcome adversity then nothing does.

We are living in extraordinarily challenging times. But it is truly inspiring to see how our integrated Kepler, client, and partner teams have rallied to overcome current challenges. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of that.

This blog is intended to help celebrate those accomplishments and keep us all connected. We hope you find inspiration from your own small triumphs (business and personal) — and, when all else fails, solace in your favorite songs.
