Reach Out 2 Kids event at Infectious Media

ROK (Reach Out 2 Kids) is a non-profit organisation which works with schools, pupils and parents to help realise the goals and aspiration of young people. ‘We want children and young people to: Believe, Achieve, Succeed’.

As part of Infectious Media’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), we recently partnered with ROK to allow A-Level students from Clapton Academy for Girls to come into the IM offices to understand the various, dynamic roles that are within the team. This was an exciting day, full of different experiences from the varying teams, including: Client Services, Insights, Optimisation, HR, Finance and Marketing.

It was an interesting and invaluable experience for all involved and the team from Infectious Media found the young professionals very engaged with the subject and keen to learn about the structure of an organisation like ours – “I enjoyed finding about the different sectors that I didn’t know existed within a business”.

It is wonderful to receive such positive feedback from the students: “This day has given me so much hope. I am 100x clearer about my career path”.

According to a new report from the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES), only 27% of those employed in the digital & tech industry are female. Working with Reach Out 2 Kids, Infectious Media are trying to help bridge the gap between the unequal number of males and females within the tech industry at grassroots level.

After the success of this learning event with ROK, Infectious Media are looking to hold an annual ‘Discover Programmatic’ day for young professionals and students hoping to learn more about the tech and advertising industry, with a potential mentoring program in the pipeline.
